Description
The specimen shows a portion of the lower lobe of each lung, together with the pulmonary artery
and the trachea, and major bronchi. The right pulmonary artery is completely blocked by coiled
thrombus, which is extending into its branches while, on the left side, there is coiled thrombus,
possibly several thrombi rather than one. There are anthracotic lymph nodes about the carina.
